![]() Her parents, John and Lorena Bethke, father-in-law and mother-in-law Otto and Elfie Penkert. Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Dennis. Brother and sister-in-law Johnny and Brenda Bethke. Great-Grandchildren Faith Mathis, Rylee Baker, Whitney Keene and Lainey Keene. Grandchildren Laurel Baker and special friend Scott Skog, Austin Baker, and Kelsey Penkert. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law Donna and Steve Baker of Alpharetta, Georgia. She was very proud of that accomplishment. Doris was one of the first women in Texas trained to rebuild magneto assemblies used in the oilfield. In 1983 she was employed by Harry Brisco and quickly learned how to rebuild magnetos for engines. Doris held a few jobs throughout her adult life, but none compared to working at H & P Oilfield Services. Her last trip was to the US-Canadian border to see Niagara Falls. ![]() She also loved to travel to visit family throughout the US. She enjoyed painting pictures of farmland, gardening with flowering plants, sewing, jewelry making, beekeeping, and helping Dennis with their cattle. Doris was a homemaker, although she had many hobbies. She and Dennis joined Hope Lutheran Church in Friendswood, Texas where they were involved in the church for 20 years before moving back to Burton. Doris grew up in Burton but was adamant about moving to Friendswood, Texas where she wanted to raise her children. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg, and they had 2 children, Darrell and Donna. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Mary’s Catholic Church, Brenham, Texas, with Father Jay Polisetty as celebrant. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, Maat 10am at St. Visitation is set for Sunday, March 10, 2024, 9am until 6pm, with family present from 4-6pm, with Rosary being recited at 6pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Family, fishing and spending time with friends was how Daniel spent his time during retirement. He played in several bands and put together his own band “Daniel and the Country Boys”. Survivors include his sister-in-law Lilly May Cendalski, nephew Charlie and Tracy (Jones) Cendalski, nieces Nancy Skiles, Lil (Cendalski) and David Chovanec, Frances (Cendalski) and Robert Pack, numerous great nieces and nephews. Daniel was preceeded in death by his parents Mitchell and Carrie (Kwiatkowski) Cendalski, his brother Bruno Cendalski, niece Thresa Cendalski and nephew Adam Marin.
